The research design is a pre-defined plan to conduct a research. Every research if plotted in a systematic way can produce fruitful results and glue the attention of the reader. Appropriate title, exclusive description to every topic, Correlation of words, proper information is the key points of an idealresearch design. The research can be of different types:
1. Descriptive
2. Correlative
3. Semi-experimental
4. Experimental
5. Meta-analytic
6. Review
Depending upon the research, the designs can be either Flexible or Fixed. Fixed designs need not be quantitative. Its design is fixed before the data collection stage. They are mainly theory based as it cannot be determined in advance which variable to be controlled and measured. Flexible design is more preferred as it allows more freedom for the data collection process. As there may be no theory prior to research, so as per the changes and requirement it can be amended.
Example of a fixed design- In an experiment a scientist thinks of changing the values that can result into completely different outcomes. Therefore, the experiment was fixed even before the data collection starts.
Example of a flexible design- A researcher goes to a village to capture different life standards of villagers. He is not having any data before visiting them. He needs to have a profound study first by living among them, and he can make certain observations or collect data.
Above things if taken care can lead to the formation of a flawless design.
